Dnieper Upland

The Dneprhochland (Ukrainian Придніпровська височина / Prydniprowska wyssotschyna ) is a 341.8 m high to the highlands in the southeast of the East European Plain in central Ukraine.

The Dneprhochland is the extension of Podolian plate to the east between the middle reaches of the Dnieper and the Southern Bug and the source region of many rivers such as Basawluk, Hirskyj Tikytsch, Inhul, Inhulez, Mokra Sura, Ros, Saksahan, Synjucha and Tjasmyn. To the east and southeast of the highlands is an average of 150 m to 180 m high, in the northwest 220 m to 240 m. In the northwest it reaches about three kilometers north- west of the south -lying village of Chmilnyk Koschuchow with 341.8 m ( ⊙ 49.48555555555627.903333333333 ) its highest point.

The Dneprhochland located in these six oblasts: Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia. Inside or on its edges are, among others, these localities: Berdychiv, Bila Tserkva, Kirovohrad, Krivoy Rog, Zhitomir, Uman and Vinnitsa; the latter is located in the transition area to Podolian plate on the Southern Bug. To the north is the Dneprhochland part of the forest-steppe zone and in the south, such a the steppe zone. Geologically, the landscape is part of the Ukrainian shield and is rich in mineral resources such as iron ore and manganese in Krywbass.
