Do (singer)

Dominique van Hulst Rijpma ( born September 7, 1981 in Valkenswaard near Eindhoven ), artist name, Do, is a Dutch singer.

Life

Even as a three year old Dominique began to play tennis. After her parents divorced, her mother married a well-known tennis coach. A successful tennis career was not achieved due to many serious injuries, which is why they changed their target with 15 years and wanted to be a singer. Even her first appearance brought her a record deal, and in no time she brought it into the opening act for Five and Montell Jordan. Nevertheless, remained out of chart success in the early years.

Her breakthrough came in 2001/2002 when it published a remake of the U.S. number - one hits Heaven by Bryan Adams from 1984 with DJ Sammy and Yanou. This time the song was a number - one hit again, this time in the UK, but also in the U.S. and in Germany they reached the top 10 of the charts.

For this she was also awarded a World Music Award for the most successful Dutch artist.

In early 2004, she sang a duet with the then Dutch star Marco Borsato the title Voorbij and they finished with it for three weeks number 1 in the Netherlands. Build on the success they could in their home country with their debut album Thu, published in the same year. The album itself reached # 3 on the charts, and threw it with Love Is Killing Me, Angel by My Side and the Christmas hit Everyday Is Christmas three top 10 hits from.

On another Dutch number 1 hit, she was involved in 2005, when a number of artists banded together as Artiesten voor Azië to a charity single for the victims of the tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean.

In the Netherlands, she is now an established artist, what they presented in 2006 with the top 10 album Follow Me to the test, even if they are no longer able to build on the success of Heaven internationally.

July 7, 2007 Do has her then-boyfriend Marc Verschoor married, with whom she had a relationship since 2003. In May 2010 they separated, but came back together in 2012.
