Doane Rock

Doane rock (English Doane Rock ) is a foundling in Eastham, Massachusetts in the USA, which is in the area of the Cape Cod National Seashore.

With a height of 5.5 meters and a depth of an estimated 3.7 meters under the ground, it is the largest exposed stone in Cape Cod was named for Deacon John Doane, who was one of the first settlers of Eastham. The boulder was also named after Doanes son of Enoch or Enos skirt, or simply Great Rock (german big rock ). He was left behind by a glacier about 18000-12000 years ago.

The Doane rock can be achieved by driving about a mile on the Doane Road from the Salt Pond Visitor Center in the direction of Coast Guard Beach. A limited parking next to the stone is present.
