Geography

The districts of Dobitschen and its hamlets are located on the edge of Ronneburger - Schmöllner field level in the transition to Leipzig lowlands in the Altenburg - Zeitz Lößhügelland.

History

The place Dobitschen is a Slavic place inception, the name derives from the Sorbian word dobry (good) back. In older documents of the place name is still playing with Doberman 's, Dobrezhen and similarly, only from the late 14th century falls off the r. The manor is first detected in 1204, when Henry of Dobitschen built a church in the village. A Hans von Dobczehn 1390 Mayor of Altenburg. 1696 were Meucha, Nasselwitz (now a deserted village between Meucha and Dobitschen ) eingepfarrt, Ponte wit and Prehna after Dobitschen. Dobitschen 1703 was affected by witch hunts. The 12 - year-old Marie, daughter of Michael Nisold, got into a witch trial. After the estate had changed hands several times after the extinction of the race of Dobitschen at the end of the 16th century the owner, it was from 1697 to 1945 in the possession of the family of real Bachoff. The manor house was used to fire on 7 April 2004 as an agricultural cooperative board. The manor has been preserved completely in shape, from the baroque moated castle to the farm. The present church was built in 1702. A school is first detected in 1737.
