Dobroslav Chrobák

Dobroslav Chrobák ( born February 16, 1907 in Hybe, Austria - Hungary, now Slovakia, † May 16, 1951 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia) was a Slovak naturalistic writer, essayist, journalist and literary critic.

Life

Chrobák studied at the Gymnasium of Rožňava and Liptovsky Mikulas. Already during his studies in Liptovsky Mikulas he made his debut as a 17 -year-old with the story Les (forest ). Also at the Czech Technical University in Prague, he dealt with the literature before 1934, the studies completed there. After returning to Slovakia, he worked as a university professor, then as editor of the Czechoslovak Radio, and was in his last years the head of the Slovak part of the country.

He died in Bratislava on the cancerous tumor and is buried in the birthplace Hybe.
