Dockendorf

Dockendorf is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bitburg -Land.

Geography

The village is situated in the South Eifel, about 10 km southwest of the county town of Bitburg. It is embedded in the western edge of the Nimstales and is traversed by an opening into the Nims Bach. The highest point within the municipal area is the Great Büsch to 379 m above sea level. NN, the lowest ground point is 225 m above sea level. NN reached the poppet Mühle. History

The place in its present form is due in all probability to the time of the Frankish conquest. The first mention of Dockendorf took place in 1270. For many years the place to Luxembourg provost Bitburg and 1816 belonged to the Prussian district of Bitburg.
