Doctor Ross

Charles Isaiah Ross, known as Doctor Ross ( born October 21, 1925 in Tunica, Mississippi; † May 28, 1993 in Flint, Michigan ) was an African American blues singer and guitarist, harmonica player and drummer ("One Man Band " ).

He began his record career in 1952 with a recording for the label Chess, had a year later with recordings for the legendary Sun label some sales success, then published on various local labels until the mid-1960s in the wake of the folk - Revival of Pete Welding "discovered" and " Testament " was recorded for a first LP on the label. From then on he was a regular guest at folk and blues festivals in the U.S. and in Europe (eg on the American Folk Blues Festival in 1965 and the Montreux Blues Festival 1972) and took on a number of other albums.

Eric Clapton 's band Cream in 1966 gecovert on the album Fresh Cream the Doctor Ross song " Cat's Squirrel ".
