Document Style Semantics and Specification Language
DSSSL [ dɪsl ] is the abbreviation for Document Style Semantics and Specification Language. It is a technology developed by James Clark transformation and formatting language for SGML documents, also for XML. The language uses a subset of ISO dialect of Scheme, a functional programming language that has emerged from LISP. DSSSL is considered in turn as a predecessor of XSL and XSLT.
