Dodecanol, and 1 -dodecanol or dodecane -1-ol, belongs to the homologous series of alcohols and is hydrophobic or lipophilic. Dodecanol is solid, colorless and does not dissolve in water.
It is used in the manufacture of surfactants and in pharmacology.
