The Dodewaard nuclear power plant is a disused Dutch nuclear power plant. It is located in the province of Gelderland and has a boiling water reactor with 60 MW of electrical power. This was on 18 October 1968 in operation and has been shut down on 26 March 1997. The trip occurred from age-related and profitability reasons. The last fuel rods were removed in 2003 for the reprocessing of the nuclear power plant. Until the dismantling of the " green field " it will still take 40 years. This time is the necessary cooldown to reduce the radioactive parts of nuclear power plant after can. Since the shutdown of the nuclear power plant Dodewaard nuclear power plant Borssele is the only remaining commercial nuclear reactor in the Netherlands.
