Dodge 100 "Commando"
The Dodge 100 " Commando " was a truck with a payload range from 7.5 to 28 tons., The Dodge produced in the 1970s and 1980s in the UK. Also in the 1950s, there was already a Dodge 100, which was known as the " parrot nose."
History and Development
The series was developed by Commer and first concept vehicles created 1965/66. You should Commer types VC and VE replaced. As Chrysler but a substantial share of the parent company of Commerce, the Rootes Group, acquired, fit one name and appearance of the new series of the Dodge 500.
Mechanics
The Dodge 100 was a diesel engine of Rootes get, but the new noise regulations paved the reliable but noisy, aggregates an end. Renault
The 100 series was ( with the exception of the United States - because of the high costs for the conversion according to the local regulations) about 15 years in many parts of the world built. It was sold as a Commer, Dodge, DeSoto, Fargo and Renault. In a Mk 2 version of the engines were revised and made some other minor improvements. Finally, the Dodge 100 was scrapped by Renault, which took over the trucking activities of the Rootes Group, after their car division was sold to Peugeot. However, there was a time a Renault version of the Dodge 100; from 1987 were called the car simply Renault Commando. Renault later built in the manufactured in the former Rootes factory vehicles own bus and truck engines.
