Dodge Charger (2005-2010)

The Dodge Charger LX is a full- size sedan in the U.S. American manufacturer Dodge.

First generation (2005-2010)

Already presented in mid-2005 and sold since the end of 2005, the year 2006 officially regarded as the first model year of the new Charger. It is a four-door sedan with minor similarities with previous Charger models. Only the introduction of some paint colors, logos and engine variants for sales promotion can be consciously created comparisons. Furthermore, there is also time variations with the known names R / T and Daytona (the latter also with the addition of R / T).

The Charger is based on the Daimler Chrysler LX platform, which is used, among other things, the current Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Magnum was used. Many parts of the interior of the Magnum were also found in the interior of the Charger. The production of the model Magnum was finally set for a facelift for 2008.

Second generation ( 2011)

For the 2011 model year there was a great restyling with a completely new body design for aerodynamic optimization. The most striking difference is the omission of the upstanding rear wheel arches. Moreover, there are, among others, a flatter windshield, a new grille, new headlights and tail lights completely changed. These are now designed as a continuous light strip in LED technology, similar to the Dodge Challenger. Also, the wheelbase has been slightly lengthened. The interior has been completely redesigned with higher quality materials and larger touch screen for navigation and audio functions. There were also increases in performance on motor side at the same time reduced consumption. The HEMI V8 SRT8 variant ( internally called "Apache" ) has now 6.4 liters of displacement.

Market

The Charger proves to state and local authorities in the North American continent now increasingly as an alternative to the existing, tried and tested service vehicles like the Crown Victoria and is already numerously as a police vehicle in North America and especially in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario in use.
