Dodge Journey (2008-2010)

The Dodge Journey is a crossover model of the Dodge brand and available on the U.S. market since early 2008. As a crossover, the use of components from different vehicle types will be referred to a type of model in the automotive industry, in this case of sport utility vehicle and minivan. Is Made the Journey in Toluca, Mexico; as the sister model Fiat Freemont. On the German market, the Journey is available since June 2008.

The Journey is based on the same platform as the crossover model of sister brand Chrysler Pacifica, which is based on a modified platform of the Dodge Avenger and the Mitsubishi Outlander and also with the same engines (VW -2 0.0 -liter PD diesel, Mitsubishi -2 ,4 -liter petrol ) is equipped. Facelift

In the fall of 2010, the Journey received a facelift (modified, among other sills, a revised grille and a new Dodge logo).

The revised model is no longer sold in Europe since the end of 2010 Dodge has withdrawn from the European market. On the Journey follows the Fiat Freemont, which was manufactured in the same plant, but - largely the same design - in engine, chassis etc. more to European needs received.

Motor / drive

The Dodge Journey is front driven standard. The engine options include a 2.0-liter VW diesel engine with pump - injector fuel injection and 103 kW, the 2.4-liter GEMA World Engine with 129 kW and a 2.7-liter V6 petrol engine with 139 kW (189 hp). As a top engine is a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with 173 kW in the top model Journey R / T (optional in the SXT model) use. The R/T- and SXT model is available in the USA with all-wheel drive. In Europe, however, neither the 3.5 V6 engine or all-wheel drive available. In Germany is offered exclusively as a gasoline engine of 2.4 -liter engine; in Austria is available as a single Benzinervariante the 2.7 L V6. In North America, no diesel engine is offered for the Journey.

Transmission

The diesel model is equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox ( Aisin BG6 ) or with an optional six-speed automatic transmission with double clutch ( Getrag MPS6 ) available.

The 2.4 -liter engine is selectively connected via a manual five-speed gearbox (MP T355 ) or a four-speed automatic ( 41TES ). The two V6 engines are combined with a six-speed automatic transmission ( 62TE ) available.

Readings

The turning circle is 11.70 m, the drag coefficient is 0.368. The standard wheel sizes range from 16 × 6.5 (base model) and 19 × 7.0 (R / T).
