Dodie Smith

Dorothy Gladys " Dodie " Smith ( May 3, 1896 in Whitefield, England; † 24 November 1990) was an English novelist and screenwriter.

Life and work

Although Dodie Smith much earlier works published, Schoolgirl Rebels ( 1915) under the pseudonym " Charles Henry Percy ," Autumn Crocus (1931 ) under the pseudonym " C. L. Anthony " or I Capture the Castle (1948 ), it was only with the 1956 -written book The Hundred and One Dalmatians, or the Great Dog Robbery ( German: hundred and one Dalmatians ) as a result of the Disney film adaptation Pongo and Perdita (English: One Hundred and One Dalmatians ) 1961 famous.

1939 emigrated to America from Smith and married in the same year the British actor Alec Beesley. Beesley was the son of Lawrence Beesley (1877-1967), the 1912 sinking of the Titanic survived and published in the same year his book The Loss of the SS Titanic ( tragedy of the Titanic ).
