Doe Avedon

Doe Avedon also Doe Avedon Siegel ( born April 7, 1925 in Old Westbury, New York as Dorcas Marie Nowell, † December 18, 2011 in Encino, California ) was a model and an American actress in film and television. She played in the 1940s and 1950s, various roles in the movies. Including in movies like There will always be days or deep in my heart.

Life and career

Doe Avedon was born in 1925 as Dorcas Nowell Marie in Old Westbury, New York, as the daughter of a butler. Her mother died when she was three years old, so she was brought up to her age of 12 by her father and the family of his employer, a wealthy lawyer. As a young woman she later worked in New York in various jobs, including as a bank teller. In 1944 she married two years older photographer Richard Avedon. Avedon, who worked as a photographer among other fashion magazines such as Harper 's Bazaar, his wife paved the way as a top model. 1949 Doe Avedon then began her film career with a small supporting role in Fletcher Markle thriller Jigsaw.
