Doi Lo District

Amphoe Doi Lo ( in Thai: อำเภอ ดอย หล่อ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from the southwest clockwise): the Amphoe Chom Thong, Mae Wang and San Pa Tong Chiang Mai province, and Pa Sang and Wiang Nong Long Lamphun Province.

History

Doi Lo was established as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) on 1 April 1995, consisting of four Tambon, which were split off from the Amphoe Chom Thong. The Thai government decided on 15 May 2007 that all sub-districts receive the full Amphoe status. This decision was officially on 24 August 2007 with the publication in the Royal Gazette.

Management

The circle is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 54 villages ( Muban ).

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
