Dok Khamtai District

Amphoe Dok Khamtai ( Thai: อำเภอ ดอกคำใต้ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phayao. The Phayao province is located in the northeastern part of North Thailand.

Geography

Doc Khamtai bordered from the north clockwise seen at Amphoe Pa Daet in the province of Chiang Rai, Amphoe to the Chun Pong and Chiang Muan Phayao province to Amphoe Song in the province of Phrae, Amphoe Ngao in the province of Lampang and at Amphoe Mueang Phayao and Amphoe Phu Kamyao also in Phayao.

An important river of the district is Maenam Ing ( Ing- flow).

History

The circle was originally created in 1832, but disbanded on 23 December 1917 and incorporated in Amphoe Mueang Phayao. On January 24, 1963 Doc Khamtai was set up again, but first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ). On July 27, 1965, he was then promoted to Amphoe.

Etymology

Doc Khamtai is the Thai name of Sweet Acacia (Acacia farnesiana (L.) Willd. ), A small tree with fragrant flowers that grew around the administration building in the past.

Management

Amphoe Dok Khamtai consists of twelve sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 124 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Doc Khamtai ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ดอกคำใต้ ) has a city - state ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of parts of the tambon Doc Khamtai, Don Sawang Arom and Si Chum and the whole tambon Federal Koet.

In addition, there are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Tham ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล งิ ม ) consists of the whole tambon Ban Tham,
  • Huai Lan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย ลาน ) consists of the whole Tambon Huai Lan,
  • Nong Lom ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง หล่ม ) consists of the whole tambon Nong Lom.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
