The University of the 9th of September ( Turkish: Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi ) is a public university in Izmir in Turkey with about 43,000 students and 3,000 academic staff.

History

The University of September 9 was born in 1982 from a spin-off of Ege University in Izmir. Your name refers to the end of the Greek occupation of Izmir on September 9, 1922 during the Turkish War of Independence. The university is known for their analytical research in the social sciences. The University is a member of the network of Balkan universities, has an extensive university library and is one of the major university teaching research institutions worldwide.
