Dolby TrueHD

Dolby TrueHD is a lossless audio codec. It was developed by Dolby Laboratories specifically for use on HD DVDs and Blu -ray as an optional lossless surround sound format. It is thus in direct competition with DTS-HD Master Audio, which has a significantly higher proliferation.

It is based on Meridian Lossless Packing (MLP ) and sees itself as his successor. TrueHD has been extended to support higher sampling rates, more channels and higher data rates.

FFmpeg is a custom decoder for MLP and TrueHD.

Features

The codec supports HD DVD and Blu -ray Disc at 96 kHz sampling frequency up to eight channels at 192 kHz up to 6 channels, each with up to 24-bit sample depth. The maximum allowable data transfer rate is 18,432 kbit / s
