Dölf Mettler

Dölf Mettler Mettler or Adolf ( May 22nd, 1934 in Wild House, Canton of St. Gallen ) is a Swiss yodel, composer, choir leader and peasant painter.

Mettler trained as a textile artist. Since 1959, he belonged to the yodelling club friendship Flawil and the citizens Turner Chörli St.Gallen. He was a member of the dance orchestra Arizona ( from 1965 in Kramer -Six and 1970 in Jokers renamed).

From 1972 Mettler was also active as a composer. It created more than one hundred and sixty yodel songs, choral works, duets and trios. In 1974 he gave up his job as a textile artist to work as a peasant painter.

In 1973, he founded and led several choirs, including (1974 ) the hobby singer Appenzell and the Schötzechörli stone. From 1982 to 1997 he was a member of the music committee of the Appenzell singer Association. From 1984 to 1994 he headed the women's choir he founded Singmeedle Appenzell, then the vocal quartet Appenzeller Wurlitzer.

2009 Innerrhoder Culture Prize awarded him.

The Swiss Landesfonotek leads to over 140 recordings, where he is involved either or compositions are taken from him.

Mettler was awarded the Golden Tell musical and 1998 for his services with the Golden treble clef.
