Dollar Academy

The Dollar Academy is a private school and boarding school in the Scottish town of Dollar in Clackmannanshire unitary authority. In 1960, the main building were included in the Scottish lists of monuments in the highest category A.

History

The from a poor family originating in dollars John McNabb went to sea as a young man and later earned a fortune as a ship-owner. He died in 1802 and bequeathed to the Parish Dollar £ 60,000 to set up a charity or school for the poor.
