Döllnitz

The Döllnitz at Altoschatz

The Döllnitz is a left tributary of the Elbe in Saxony.

Course

It rises in Querbitzsch, a western district of the city Mügeln, flows through the cities and Mügeln Oschatz and flows in the harbor of the city of Riesa in the Elbe.

Large inflows are:

  • The Hasenbach,
  • The strand ditch,
  • Of Sandbach,
  • The Grauschwitzbach and
  • The Kemmlitzgrundbach.

Between river miles 35.8 and 38.2 are the dam Döllnitzsee, the pre-dam Döllnitzsee and Göttwitzsee.

At the Döllnitz are 136 water structures such as bridges, culverts, weirs (as of mid 2006).

Flood warning level is located in Nebitzschen and Merzdorf.
