Dolomitenmann

The Red Bull Dolomite Man is a relay race in Lienz / East Tyrol. The price is 40.000 EUR volume. The name is derived from the mountain chain of the Dolomites at Lienz.

Disciplines

The September annual competition consists of the following disciplines:

• Mountain Run
• Parasailing
• Whitewater kayaking
• Mountain Biking

Expiration

Is started with the mountain running competition. The athletes have a 12-kilometer run course a difference in altitude of 1,800 m ( Lienz main square - Kühbodentörl ) cope.

At the summit arrived is passed to the paragliders. This slides between the Dolomite towers Moosalm direction and must happen in this way two pylons correctly. After a stopover and a short drive leads to the second glide to the final destination after Leisach where already waiting for the canoeist.

This must be the first to swim the river Drava, before he is required to complete the mandatory " Alpine Start". From around 7 meters height he jumps in the boat sitting in the river Drava. After a regatta and some upward passages he has to fight against the Isel and cope with a severe course in Iselkatarakt. After a final sprint with the entire equipment the target is reached for him.

The last team is the mountain bikers. This must only at Hochstein drive (one way with long passages and carrying about 1,300 m in altitude) to then ski H2000 to go down.

The paraglider passes in Leisach to mountain bikers: At 27 Dolomite Man, on September 07, 2009, the first time the order of the competitions has been changed. The contest is terminated by canoeists. The amendment allows the team to complete the finishing line together.
