The Dolores River rises in southwestern Colorado near the Dolores Peak and Mount Wilson in the San Miguel Mountains. It flows to the southwest until it behind Dolores rotation makes the north. Before the Dolores River canyon in the San Miguel River empties into the river. Near Fisher Towers in Grand County, Utah, it flows into the Colorado River.
