Domagoj Duvnjak ( born June 1, 1988 in Đakovo, SR Croatia, Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player, which is usually used as a back player at the center position. Its body length is 1.98m, his weight is 100 kilograms. He was elected World Handball Player in 2013.
Career
Association
Duvnjak began his professional career with the Croatian club RK Zagreb in the season 2006 /2007. In his first season won Domagoj Duvnjak league and cup. It also followed stakes in the EHF Champions League season 2007/2008. Since the 2009/10 season he plays for the Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg. Originally Duvnjak should only change from the season 2011/2012 in Hamburg. But the HSV paid a fee to prematurely dissolve the playmaker from his contract in Zagreb. He was the most expensive up to that handball players in the world of this transaction. The HSV Hamburg he won shortly after joining the DHB Supercup, at the end of his first season, the DHB Cup and 2011, the German championship.
On June 17, 2013 it was announced that Duvnjak his current contract until 2014 at HSV Hamburg are not renewed and will switch to the 2014/15 season to Kiel.
National
At the European Championships in 2008 Domagoj Duvnjak was Vice-European Champion with the Croatian national team. Also at the 2009 World Championships and the 2010 European Championships he won with his team to second place.
At the European Championships in 2012 he was able to take the bronze medal in reception, as well as at the Olympic Games 2012 in London. At the World Championships in 2013, he reached with Croatia again in third place and was appointed to the All-Star Team.
