Domaine Musical

Domaine Musical (English: Musical domain) was the title of a Paris concert series that has been launched by the composer and conductor Pierre Boulez in the season 1953/54, and had until 1973 inventory.

The privately-funded concert series had its first home on the experimental stage of the Théâtre Marigny (about 250 seats), which was led by the pair of actors Jean- Louis Barrault and Madeleine Renaud. Per season took place four to six concerts. Domaine Musical designated less a venue than a programmatic idea. The dramaturgy of the concerts in the early years was based on three pillars.

From the season 1966/67, Pierre Boulez pursued his career as a conductor, intense and lay down the line of the Domaine Musical, which was taken up in 1973 by Gilbert Amy.
