Domenico Leccisi

Domenico Leccisi ( born May 20, 1920 in Molfetta, Bari, † November 2, 2008 in Milan ) was an Italian political activist, MP and journalist.

On the night of April 23, 1946 Leccisi kidnapped along with two aides the body of Benito Mussolini from an unmarked burial ground of the Milan cemetery Cimitero del Musocco. There a year had previously been buried at the instigation of the Allied authorities, the suspended to the Piazzale Loreto body shot of the fascists. The kidnappers brought the corpse in the Certosa di Pavia, where he was discovered three and a half months later. The corpse of Mussolini was then taken to the Capuchin monastery Cerro Maggiore in Legnano, where he rested anonymous until 1957. Domenico Leccisi has been identified as perpetrators and sentenced to six years in prison. However, he came after 23 months free by an amnesty.

Leccisi Movimento Sociale Italiano joined the at ( MSI) and represented this party from 1953 to 1963 as a member of parliament in Rome. As a parliamentarian he gave in 1957 at the Christian Democrat Prime Minister Adone Zoli, the publication of the corpse of Mussolini on his family. Mussolini was buried in the episode on August 29, 1957 in the family tomb in Predappio.

In 1969 he left the MSI because he accused him, this had " betrayed the old ideals ." He worked subsequently as a journalist for right-wing publications. 1991 appeared in Rome his autobiography. Leccisi died in 2008 in Milan Pio Albergo Trivulzio retirement home to circulatory failure.
