Domenico Pozzovivo

Domenico Pozzovivo ( born November 30, 1982 in Policoro ) is an Italian racing cyclist.

He goes for the Irish team Ceramica Panaria - Navigare, which, however, from both the sporting line as well from the driver's field significantly in Italian hands since 2005. His best finish he achieved in the first professional year with 5th place in the Giro dell'Appennino.

After being plagued by fall injuries, could not build on the good results of his first season in 2006, he finished first in 2007 rank 3 in the itinerary Ciclistica Settimana Lombarda. He belonged to his team then to the Giro d' Italia 2007, which is equivalent to the first participation of a large tour. Finally, after good performances in the mountains he was this, quit in the young rider standings behind Andy Schleck and Riccardo Ricco on the 17th place overall, and third place.

In 2008 he finished the Giro d'Italia in ninth place overall.

In 2012 he won a stage and the overall classification of the Giro del Trentino. Only a few weeks later, he won the Giro d' Italia on Lake Laceno as a soloist his first Giro stage and ended the tour in eighth overall. A year later he made in the service of the French team AG2R at the Giro d' Italia with Carlos Betancur a double peak, reaching the tenth place in the final standings.
