Dominic Maroh ( born March 4, 1987 in Nürtingen ) is a Slovenian- German football player.
Youth
Marohs mother is German, his father is from Slovenia. He began with four years at the Bambini TSV Neckartailfingen to play football. He played as a striker. After nine years, he left his hometown club.
Career
In 2000 he moved to SSV Reutlingen, where he played from 2006 in the first team in the Regionalliga Süd, but could not establish himself as a regular player. In 2008, he joined the second team of the 1st FC Nuremberg, who had just gained in the Regionalliga Süd, and was a fixture at center-back. On October 26, he was playing in Koblenz for the first time on the bench for the first team.
He had his first professional use on November 7 in the 2nd Bundesliga against FSV Frankfurt. Once there had been a red card for defender José Gonçalves in the 55th minute, Maroh came on for Isaac Boakye striker. He then played through the rest of the first round, with him, succeeded the Swiss franc derby against SpVgg Greuther Fürth, his first Profitor in his third game.
Even after the winter break was Maroh team regular. Up to 31 day of the season he played until a replacement is always over the full time, but then he pulled a labrum tear in his left shoulder, which he first came to no use after twenty games. In this first season, he did not get a yellow card as a central defender. After the season, he was named by Kicker sports magazine for fourth-best center-back of the season, which he landed one place behind his team-mate Javier Pinola.
Because of the shoulder injury missed Maroh most test matches pre-season 2009/10. His comeback he gave on 26 July 2009 at the season opening game against the Glasgow Rangers. For the new season, he had got back the number 6 and was from the beginning a regular player in the Bundesliga. Despite a solid first round got after the winter break on loan from FC Bayern Breno preference. But this was after only eight inserts for the rest of the season and Maroh again became a regular player. His first goal in the Bundesliga scoring Maroh 17 April 2010 in the away match against SC Freiburg; Although he initially headed an own goal, but hit in the same batch also the opponent's goal. At the end of the season he played two relegation matches against FC Augsburg, who managed to avoid relegation.
In the season 2010/11 competition grew around the two places in central defense by the new arrival of Per Nilsson. Initially received Wolf and Nilsson preference and when finally even youth players Philipp Wollenberg urged in the second half of the season in the team and with Wolf formed a very successful duo remained for Maroh this season only the place as a reserve player with eight inserts. For the season 2011/12 Wolf left the club, his place went to the Swiss newcomer but Timm Klose. But gained towards the end of the first round again Maroh preference and always stood up for the 32nd matchday in the starting XI. Then came back Per Nilsson used and it became apparent that was not planned again for the coming season with Maroh as a regular player. Maroh extended his contract at Nuremberg did not leave the club at the end of the season 2011/12.
During the summer break in 2012 Maroh transferred to 1 FC Köln. He signed a dated before 30 June 2014 contract.
National
On February 11, 2009 Maroh was appointed for the Slovenian national team to play an international match, but there not used. In an interview he said at first he did not want to play for Slovenia, but maybe for Germany. This decision he revised and justified it with the too rapid pace of his still young career. It should not then have been willing as he announced on his Facebook page. On August 15, 2012, he made his debut for the Slovenian national football team in the match against Romania.
