Dominic Monaghan
Dominic Bernard Patrick Luke Monaghan ( born December 8, 1976 in Berlin, Germany ) is a British actor. He was known for his role as a Hobbit Meriadoc "Merry " Brandybuck in the film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson as well as Charlie Pace in the series Lost.

Biography
Early life
Dominic Monaghan Dominic Bernard Patrick Luke Monaghan actually, was born on 8 December 1976 in Berlin.
His parents Maureen, a nurse, and Austin, a teacher, are from Manchester, England. Dominic has an older brother, Matthew Monaghan, biology taught in Spain, but is also active as a singer and songwriter.
Monaghan lived in Berlin, Dusseldorf - Lohausen, Stuttgart and Münster. At the age of eleven years, he returned with his family back to Manchester. His native language is English, but he also speaks a little broken German.
He attended St. Anne's RC High School and Aquinas College where he studied English literature, drama and geography.
Career
After the second year on the St. Anne's he worked regularly takes part in school plays such as Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, and Bugsy Malone. Later he became a member of the Manchester Youth Theatre. He started his career on the British stage and quickly made a name. In 1996, at the age of 19, he was first seen on television. In Hetty Wainthropp Investigates he showed good performance. Above all, the British public was very impressed by him.
Monaghan's first film role was the Hobbit Meriadoc "Merry " Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's The Lord of The Rings films. He originally auditioned for the role of Frodo before. From 2004 to 2007 he played in the Mystery television series Lost a starring role as Charlie Pace.
In 2009, he was in a supporting role in X -Men Origins: Wolverine to see. He also starred in the ABC series FlashForward. In the music video for Love the Way You Lie by Eminem and Rihanna, which was released in August 2010, Monaghan plays with Megan Fox a pair of lovers.
Personal
Monaghan is committed to the protection of nature and animals, among other things, he was a face for PETA.
On his right arm he wears a tattoo, the Elvish word for the number "nine", a reference to his involvement in The Lord of the Rings and the fact that it represents one of the nine companions. Below that tattoo is another that reads: "Life Imitates Art" ( German: "Life imitates art for" ), a quote from Oscar Wilde. On his left arm, another tattoo that reads "living is easy with eyes closed " is ( German: " Life is easy with eyes closed "), a line from the Beatles song Strawberry Fields Forever. On his right forearm he settled in 2010 by the famous tattoo artist Kat Von D is the set of " Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter" sting. This originates from the figure of Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back. The tattooing procedure was also recorded on film for the reality series LA Ink in episode 4x01.
