The hairstyle was in vogue in the 1980s already, not coincidentally, during the second wave of feminism. In the 1980s there was a wave of actresses with short hair or shaved women in science fiction productions such as Sigourney Weaver, Brigitte Nielsen, Grace Jones or later Demi Moore in " GI Jane, " all of which were tied to more martial roles and are to be understood in the context of female independence. They then went out of fashion and can now be used innovatively again. Today, the hairstyle is not specifically an expression of feminism but of modernity.
