Dominique Riquet

Dominique Riquet ( born September 18, 1946 in Valenciennes ) is a French politician of the Parti radical valoisien.

Riquet worked as assistant and senior physician and doctor of medicine and put the doctor's diploma or certificate in the field of urologic surgery from. He was then Staff clinician and 1981-2008 Head of the Department of Urologic Surgery, Centre Hospitalier, Valenciennes.

Riquet is since 2002 member of the Executive Board of the department of Nord of the UMP and valoisien since 2008 a member of the national leadership of the Parti radical. From 1989 to 1995 he was deputy mayor, then to 2002, first deputy mayor from 2002 and Mayor of Valenciennes. He was also from 1992 to 2009 Member of the Regional Council of Nord-Pas -de- Calais and vice president of the City-Region Association Valenciennes Métropole. Riquet, Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters, is a member of the European Parliament since 2009.
