Domžale is a medium wave transmitter location since 1928. This transmitter used until its destruction in World War II 1941 fünfdrähtige T antenna, which was stretched between two 120 -meter-high, insulated against ground steel truss masts. Began in 1949 with the rebuilding of the transmitter. He received as an antenna, a 60 meters high, insulated against ground radiating transmitting mast and went on 25 March 1951 in operation.

Soon afterwards, this transmission tower was replaced by a 136 -meter-high, insulated against ground steel truss mast and 1969 increases the transmission power to 200 kW. During the preparation of the Geneva wave plan the station received a power of 600 kW allocated and the plant was expanded in the second half of the 1970s: so not only new transmitters were installed, but the old radio mast isolated by a 161 -meter-high, against earth guyed steel tube mast replaced.

In July 1991, the station was attacked during the Slovenian War of Independence, the 600 kilowatt transmitter was severely damaged. However, since the old station from the 1950s, the feed line of transmission towers and transmission tower were not damaged, it was only short interruptions. Today in Domžale is a fully transistorized transmitter in operation. The transmitter Domžale is easily received in Germany on the medium wave frequency 918 kHz in the evenings.
