Don Barksdale

Donald Angelo "Don" Barksdale ( born March 31, 1923 in Oakland, California, † March 8, 1993 ) was an American professional basketball player.

As the first African-American player, he was a member of a U.S. Olympic team at the Olympic Games in 1948. Five years later he was elected as the first African-American in the NBA All -Star Game. Barksdale died at the age of 69 years to cancer. In 2012 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
