Don Felder

Donald William Fields ( born September 21, 1947 in Gainesville, Florida) is an American rock guitarist, who from 1974 to 1980 and between 1994 and 2001 a member of the country-rock band " Eagles ". He is co -author of the acclaimed play "Hotel California ", which was not least by the world famous by him and Joe Walsh played, exceptional guitar solo.

Life and career

Fields became aware of the music when he was in the " Ed Sullivan Show" saw Elvis Presley. At the age of about 11 he got his first guitar from a friend, in exchange for a handful of cherry bombs. One of his guitar teacher was Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers. Don Felder turn gave Tom Petty guitar lessons. He was strongly influenced by the Rock ' n ' Roll and joined with 15 of his first band, The Continentals, the (later Crosby, Stills & Nash ) belonged at that time also Stephen Stills. Eagles

In 1983 he released a rock ' n' roll album titled Airborne which remained his only solo LP until 2012, although he also wrote several film soundtracks, as the title pieces to Heavy Metal and The Wild Life. 1985/86 he hosted a comedy music show called FTV on television. In 1994, the Eagles found with Don Felder again for Hell Freezes Over tour together, which was followed by the eponymous album. Fields remained up to and including the New Year's Concerts 1999/2000 of the band. In 2008, the Eagles without fields had a comeback with the album ( a double CD) " Long Road Out Of Eden".

On October 9, 2012 appeared after almost 30 years of his second solo album Road To Forever. On this album have numerous well-known musicians such as Steve Lukather and David Paich of Toto and David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash ( Crosby, Stills and Nash ) cooperated.

Litigation

On 6 February 2001 Fields was thrown out of the band. In response, he filed two lawsuits against the Eagles as a band, and Don Henley, Glenn Frey and 50 unknowns. For breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and other offenses he called for a total liability of $ 50 million. Fields claimed, among other things, that Frey and Henley had cheated him in the distribution of profits. The process was completed in the spring of 2007, after the parties were able to settle out of court.
