Don Kirkpatrick

Donald "Don" Kirkpatrick ( born June 17, 1905 in Charlotte (North Carolina ), † 13 May 1956) was an American jazz pianist and arranger of the Swing.

Don Kirkpatrick played 1926-1933 with Chick Webb ( Heebie Jeepies, 1931) and Elmer Snowden and Don Redman 1933-1937. He has also worked as an arranger for Teddy Hill, Count Basie, Cootie Williams, Buddy Johnson, Benny Goodman and other bandleader. Kirkpatrick took records with Benny Morton 1934, Sidney Bechet, Bunk Johnson in 1947 and from 1952 to 1955 as a member of the orchestra of Wilbur De Paris. Shortly after his retirement from the New New Orleans Jazz Band Kirkpatrick died of pneumonia.
