Don Sharp

Donald Sharp ( born April 19, 1922 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia; † December 14, 2011 in Cornwall, England ) was a British film director, screenwriter, actor and film producer.

Life

Sharp began his career as an actor, and came after the Second World War to Britain, where he worked with the Group Three. The mid-1950s he began to work as a director, mostly for modestly budgeted crime films and musicals. His best-known works were produced in the following decade when he directed three films for the traditional firm hammer and some movies for the producer Harry Alan Towers turned (among the first two Fu -Man -Chu movies with Christopher Lee). In addition, he was responsible for large-scale productions as second- unit director.

For television emerged, inter alia, some series episodes for The Avengers and melon as well as the mini-series A Woman of Substance.
