Donald Kennedy

Donald Kennedy ( born 1931 in New York, NY, USA) is an American biologist and editor.

Kennedy was born in New York and studied at Harvard University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. In 1956 he received his PhD in Biology and then went to Stanford University where he spent most of his career, and he presided as director from 1980 to 1992. Under President Jimmy Carter, he was the Head of the Food and Drug Administration.

Since 2000, Kennedy is the editor of the prestigious journal Science, which is published weekly by the AAAS.

As a biologist, Kennedy is an expert on environmental issues associated with land use changes, the change in agriculture and global warming.
