Donatas Motiejūnas

Donatas Motiejunas ( born September 20, 1990 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player who stands since 2012 with the Houston Rockets under contract.

Europe

Motiejunas came in the 2007-2008 season for the first time for the A- team Zalgiris Kaunas of used. In order to get more playing time, he moved to league rivals Aisčiai Kaunas. Motiejunas scored nearly 20 points per game in league play and then moved to Pallacanestro Treviso. In 2011 he achieved with this club the Final Four in the Eurocup and has won the Eurocup Rising Star Trophy. He also signed up for the NBA Draft 2011. However, he played one more season at the Polish club Asseco Prokom Gdynia. With this he won the Polish Championship in 2012. In addition, he succeeded on December 7th, when victory over Prokom Union Olimpija KK, with 21 rebounds ( including 18 defensive), a new defensive rebound record in the Euro League.

NBA

When NBA Draft 2011 Motiejunas was selected in 20th place of the Minnesota Timberwolves and then transferred to the Houston Rockets. After the season for Prokom, he signed with the Rockets a four-year contract worth $ 4,230,000. During his first season for the Rockets, he started in 14 of 44 games, scoring 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

National

Motiejunas played at different ages for the Lithuanian national team. In 2008 he was elected MVP of the U-18 European Championship. In that tournament Motiejunas reached with Lithuania as well as the final a week later at the U -20 European Championship.
