The Donaueschingen Bahnhof ( Abbreviation: RDO ) is a separation station in the south of Baden -Württemberg. He is the only railway station in the town of Donaueschingen. There are also the breakpoints Donaueschingen Allmendshofen, Donaueschingen center / settlement, Donaueschingen Donaueschingen Aufen and green rings. The station belongs to the train station category 3 and has five platform tracks. It is operated daily by about 100 trains of DB Highway, DB Regio and Hohenzollern railway land.

History

The station was opened with the completion of the railway line from Donaueschingen on 15 June 1868 Immendingen. On 6 August 1869, the commissioning of the railway line from Donaueschingen Villingen followed, thus the Black Forest Railway was completed. On October 18, 1892 a railway line was completed after Huefingen to introduce the tracks of the route into the station, but renovations were required. Therefore, the tracks were extended and built a railroad board. In 1884, the station received a crane to make loading goods easier. 1893 were also three new electromechanical interlocking systems are put into operation. In 1899 was created by the increasing volume of goods a goods shed. Additionally the engine house was extended. In 1901, the station had to be removed again because of the construction of Höllentalbahn from Donaueschingen to Neustadt, where the route followed on from the existing line via Titisee and Freiburg. 1902, the old station building was replaced by a new one, was also built in the same year a fourth signal box. The remaining renovation work was completed in 1910, the reconstruction of the platform canopies still took until the year 1912. The station was heavily damaged in World War II, so a new station building was opened in 1959.

Description

The station is located south of the city center of Donaueschingen. The station area is south by the Friedrich Erbert Street and the road freight and north along the Bahnhofstrasse. In the west and in the east there are bridges that cross the station area, the Schellenberg bridge and the Bahnhofstrasse. The station building is located just north of the plant and has an address of Bahnhofstrasse 1 in the building, including a travel center.

The station has three platforms, they have partially adapted for disabled Zu-/Abgänge. The station has a bus connection.
