Dong Charoen District

Amphoe Dong Charoen ( Thai: อำเภอ ดง เจริญ ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the southeastern province of Phichit. The Phichit Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Bang Mun Nak and the Thap Khlo the province of Phichit, Chon Daen Phetchabun province and Nong Bua Province Nakhon Sawan.

History

Mae On was on 15 July 1996, first as sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by five Tambon Bang Mun Nak were cleaved. On 15 May 2007, the Thai government has decided to bring all the 81 sub-districts in the "normal" Amphoe status to simplify administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette on August 24, 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 54 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Samnak Khun Nen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำนัก ขุน เณร ) consists of parts of the tambon Samnak Khun Nen,
  • Wang Bong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง บ ง ค์ ) also consists of parts of the tambon Samnak Khun Nen.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
