Dongfang Electric

Dongfang Electric (short: DEC; Chinese东方 电气; former / Full Name [China ] Dongfang Electric [ Group ] Corporation) is a Chinese electrical, mechanical and plant engineering group. The state-owned enterprises under the control of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is headquartered in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.

DEC provides a wide range of devices, machines and equipment, especially for the electric power generation and transmission to complete large power plants, as well as the electric railway. Together with the internationally oriented subsidiary Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited ( DEC Ltd. ) DEC is one of the largest suppliers of electrical equipment worldwide.

The daughter DEC Limited is created as a public company (Ch有限公司, Yǒuxiàn Gongsi ) and is listed on the Hong Kong ( SEHK: 1072 ) and Shanghai ( SSE: 600875 ) traded. DEC is listed on the Stock Index SSE 180.

History

The predecessor of the DEC is founded in 1958, Dongfang Electrical Machinery Factory (English Dongfang Electric Machinery Plant; Chinese:东方 电机 厂). This resulted in 1984 China Dongfang Electric Corporation.

1993 China Dongfang Electric Machinery Plant restructured. It was followed by the IPO of the subsidiary Dongfang Electric Machinery Company Limited (Chinese:东方 电机 股份有限公司) on the stock exchanges in Hong Kong (1994) and Shanghai (1995).

2007, Dongfang Electric Machinery Company was merged with China Dongfang Electric Corporation and changed its name now as Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited (Chinese:东方 电气 股份有限公司).
