Donna Fargo

Donna Fargo ( born November 10, 1945 in Mount Airy, North Carolina as Yvonne Vaughan ) is an American country music singer.

Career

Yvonne Vaughn worked during the day in a suburb of Los Angeles as a teacher and in the evening under the stage name Donna Fargo as a singer. She married record producer Stan Silver and adopted in 1969, the first singles. The success but ceased when she began writing her own songs.

In 1972, she had an extraordinary hit with The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA. The single reached number one on the country charts and was listed at number 11 in the pop charts. The album of the same name stayed 43 weeks in the charts. There was gold, platinum and 1973 Grammy for Best Country singer. The next single Funny Face became the number - one hit and reached number five on the pop singles chart. She made four more number - one hits and numerous top 10 rankings on the country charts. In April 1973, she won with the song Superman one weeks the top spot on the country charts, followed in July You Were Here akways, in July 1974 You Can not Be A Beacon (If Your Light Do not Shine), both held the top spot one week each. After her move to Warner Brothers she succeeded entitled That Was Yesterday in July 1977 again a number 1 hit.

Your success had Donna Fargo largely thanks to her cheerful and carefree nature. Their songs had an upbeat charisma and catchy melodies and made them known beyond the country music scene beyond.
