Donnington Castle is a ruined castle near Newbury in England.

From the former castle of the 14th century only the gatehouse is striking with its two towers, originally built with a portcullis. Surrounded is the ruins of impressive earthworks. The remains standing on a hill which is 100 meters higher than the surrounding country. A path from 30 to 40% slope leads up to the castle. The interior of the gatehouse is closed and not open to visitors.

King Richard II allowed Richard de Abberbury 1386 a new fixing of stone, a reliable castle with battlements to build in his own country Donnington.
