Dontaye Draper
Dontaye Dominic Draper ( born August 10, 1984 in Baltimore ) is an American- Croatian professional basketball player. He plays the position of point guards.
Career
Dontaye Draper began his career on Wall Brook High School in Baltimore and the Trinity - Pawling School in Pawling, New York. After graduating in 2003, he went to the College of Charleston, where he played until 2007 for the Charleston Cougars in the Southern Conference of the NCAA. He had his most successful season 2006/ 07, when he reached the Conference Finals with his team and was elected to the All- Tournament team.
In the NBA Draft in 2007 elected him a team and so he decided a change in the Australian NBL Sydney Kings to the with which he failed to win the championship at the Melbourne Tigers 2007/ 08 only in the finale. The following season Draper went to Europe, where he was first in the service of the French club Toulon Hyères Var Basket, however, in December 2008, moved to BC Oostende in Belgium. The season 2009/10 he played in the second Italian league for Veroli Basket, before he moved to the Croatian club KK Cedevita in summer 2010. Here he was able to be sporting breakthrough, already in his first season he reached the final of the Croatian Cup and third in the ULEB Eurocup, where he was also voted MVP of the competition and the All- Tournament team. In the season 2011/12 Draper won with his team the Croatian Cup and reached surprising in the League ABA the final, where they failed with 77:87 to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
In August 2012, Draper joined the Spanish ACB League to Real Madrid, where he signed a two -year contract. In the 2012/13 season he won with Real Madrid, the Spanish Cup and the Supercup, also he reached with his team the final of the Euro League.
National
During his first season in Croatia Draper received the Croatian citizenship to the national team at the European Basketball Championships to support 2011. When EM tournament, he left with his team in the preliminary round, he brought it to an average of seven assists per game.
