Doomsword

Doomsword is a metal band from Italy. It was founded in 1997 by Death Master, who previously played in the extreme metal band Agarthi. Their music can be described as a mixture of doom metal and Viking metal and is referred to according to the group as " Epic Doom Metal".

Biography

Death Master, the first singing experience gained in a progressive metal band back in 1993, decided in September 1997 to make his music dreams come true and start a Epic Metal band in the music style of his favorite bands of the eighties. He asked Guardian Angel, a musician whom he had known for years from various joint music projects and this also went into the newly formed band. Since they were playing over a year earlier in the Epic Metal band Warhammer and therefore knew each other and their musical ideas, they immediately began to write plays for a demo. In addition, they were able to access lyrics from an earlier common medieval project to which they changed the music. After less than a month, the first demo was finished. It was "Sacred Metal" named and contains 5 songs. The bass guitar on the demo took Soldier of Fortune. After this demo Doomsword received offers from various record labels. In addition, the bass player Dark Omen came to the music band added to the termination of Agarthi, the band that also Deathmaster has previously played. A new vocalist was found in the form of Night Como. They signed a record deal with Underground Symphony and increased from Juli and August 1998 their first album. This was published in March 1999 under the name " DoomSword " and contains three songs that were already on the demo and five new titles. After this album Guardian Angel and Night Comer left the band again.

Death Master and Dark Omen remained and went on a search for new members. First, you found something in Guardian Angel II as guitarist. Finally, The Forger were joined on guitar and Grom on drums. In the winter of 2001 the band signed with a new label called Dragonheart and went to the production of the second album " Resound the Horn" in the Death Master again took over the vocals. After it was produced in the summer of 2001, they immediately began to produce new lyrics to give rise to a not so long break between albums. Grom left the band and they had to search for a new drummer. Wrath Lord Grom replaced and a new album called " Let Battle Commence " was produced and published. Even before the release rose from Guardian Angel II. The line-up then was vervollständig by Death Masters Geilt brother on bass and Sacred Heart on the guitar again. However, Sacred Heart left the band in 2005. Recently they were looking for a guitarist to produce a fourth album can. The new album is called "My Name Will Live On " and was published on 22 June 2007 via Dragonheart and SPV.
