Dooniver

Dooniver ( Irish: Dún Ibhir - " Ibhir 's Fortress" ) is a settlement on the Achill Iceland in the west of County Mayo in the province of Connacht. Near the place there are some lovely beaches of Dooniver Beach and the Bull Mouth Beach. The Bull Mouth Beach in front is the island Inisbiggle

Location

Dooniver is located on the east side of Achill Iceland. The surrounding towns are Askill, Toin to tSeanbhaile, Bunnacurry. Dooniver is divided into a number of sub- centers: Bull Mouth, Claddagh, Dooniver, The Brae, Baile na locha ( Lakeside), Dionn, Aird Mhór.

Education

In Dooniver is a " National School ". This was founded in 1910 and was originally located in Bull Portsmouth, but was later moved.

Traffic

Bus Eireann runs the place once a day with the line 440.

Economy

There are a number of companies from trade and commerce at the site, including a Bed & Breakfast and a campsite.
