Dor (political party)

Gil - Gimla'ei LaKnesset Israel ( Hebrew: גיל - גמלאי ישראל לכנסת, in German "Israeli pensioners in the Knesset " ) is an Israeli Party of Pensioners. Chairman is Rafi Eitan. Policy objectives of the party are the social protection of pensioners in Israel. In addition, Gil has prescribed the maintenance of Jewish traditions and democratic values.

Electoral success in 2006

In the election for the 17th Knesset on 28 March 2006, the party was able to receive all surveys with 5.9% exceeding the 2 percent threshold significantly. They thus won seven seats in the Israeli parliament. Gil formed a parliamentary group with the winner of the elections, Kadima and joined the government of Ehud Olmert with a two ministers. Rafi Eitan was Minister for the newly created division, " retirees / pensioners questions ."

In the preferred choice in 2009 Gil reached only 0.5 % and missed the re- entry into parliament.
