Dorfhain

Dorfhain is a municipality in the north- western part of the Saxon Switzerland & Eastern Ore Mountains. It is located about 20 kilometers southwest of the Saxon capital of Dresden and is one of the municipalities in the district with the smallest population and area. Dorfhain is a member of a guided from the neighboring town of Tharandt management community.

Dorfhain was first mentioned in 1351 and probably founded by the settlers of today's warning deserted village. After that, the place was about 400 years from 1500 to 1900 characterized by mining to the end of the 18th century began the increased silver mining to Dorfhain. After the Second World War, the city came to the GDR and belonged until 1994 to the district or county Freital, then to Weißeritzkreis and now the district of Saxon Switzerland & Eastern Ore Mountains.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the edge of the forest in the Eastern Ore Mountains Tharandter, about ten miles northwest of the county seat Dippoldiswalde and eight kilometers southwest of the county seat Freital. Dorfhain located on the left flank of the savages Weißeritz in the Altenberg area has its source, and is dammed south of Dorfhain to Klingenberg dam. The municipal area is coincident with the boundary of the district of the same name and has an area of 6.26 km ². Dorfhain can be divided into the districts small village grove, medium and large Dorfhain Dorfhain, but they are grown together so much that no visible boundaries exist more between them.

Dorfhain is enclosed to the north of the city Tharandt and in the south of the town of Klingenberg. Nearby Cities are noble crown in the northeast, Höckendorf the southeast, Obercunnersdorf in the south, Klingenberg in the southwest as well as barbecue castle in the northwest.

The B173 runs north and the B 170 east of the municipal area. By Dorfhain leads the railway line Dresden- Werdau, the nearest railway station is located in Noble crown. Dorfhain is connected with the bus lines of regional transport Dresden to public transport traffic Oberelbe.

History

The first-time documentary mention in 1351 was held, initial settlements there were already around 1300. It is believed that this was of warning village. 1944, the hydroelectric plant Dorfhain is put into operation.

1952 Dorfhain, which belonged to the circle of Dresden until then, added to the newly created circuit Freital. After the merger of the county Freital with the county Dippoldiswalde Dorfhain in 1994 part of the new Weißeritz circle which rose in 2008 in the district of Saxon Switzerland & Eastern Ore Mountains. During the flood of the century in August 2002, the flooding of the Wild Weißeritz buildings and roads destroyed village grove.

With the municipal reform law in 1998 in the formation of the joint management with Tharandt January 1, 1999, which has not been fully completed by village grove where there is a small private management to date. On September 9, 2007, a mayoral election was held to choose a successor for longtime Mayor Lothar Mende. Mende was the first time in the mid-1980s, mayor of the village grove. Was elected Olaf Swallow ( CDU) with 86.2 %. Michael Funk ( Green ) received 13.8% of the vote. The turnout was 72.2 %.
