Dorgali

Dorgali is a city on the east coast of Sardinia, in the Province of Nuoro in Italy with 8549 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Geography

Dorgali is located at about 400 m on the western slopes of Monte Bardia, by which it is separated from the sea.

The municipality is located the ancient Nuragic Serra Orrios, - one of the best preserved prehistoric plants of Sardinia. Nearby are also the Dolmen Montelongo and Motorra and the giants grave S'Ena_'e_Thomes.

At the lowest point of the ridge between Monte Bardia and the southern Monte Tului a modern road tunnels and above an old tunnel traverses the mountain. Connect Dorgali with the hamlet of Cala Gonone. Cala Gonone is located directly on the Tyrrhenian Sea is a popular starting point for tours to countless bays on the Golfo di Orosei.

Economy and infrastructure

Large areas Dorgali, especially the south to Oddoene Valley are being used for the cultivation of Cannonau red wine.
